ON APRIL 29, 2017 flash floods ripped through Northeast Oklahoma, including Cookson Hills. The Hollow, where many support staff and their families live, was covered by 3-foot rapids within an hour. We reached out to our supporters asking for prayers, and God answered. When forecasts called for storms throughout the evening, our God sheltered us and the waters receded quickly. We are so thankful for God’s protection and that our damage is relatively minor.
OUR LIST OF IMMEDIATE DAMAGE INCLUDES:
• 3 staff homes flooded out
• Minor flooding to main office, rec and donation centers, 1st-floor apartments
• Damaged roads, missing gates, downed power lines
• Debris and mud all over
• Two empty propane tanks
