Ashley Farmer

Ashley first heard about Cookson as a child, but she couldn’t understand the depth of the work. After she graduated from college, her father and grandmother separately suggested she look into working here. It has been the perfect fit. In 2016, Ashley joined the team as a Middle School teacher. As an English and Reading teacher, Ashley helps students learn to use analytical skills to understand texts and to respond with their own, unique thoughts and opinions. As an Art teacher, Ashley gets to show her students how God made us to be creative. As a Life Skills teacher, she gets to help kids think about different skills in life that can help them succeed, such as time management, goal setting, and first aid. Ashley has a Bachelor of Arts in English and a Master of Arts in English with an emphasis in Teaching English as a Second Language from the University of Central Oklahoma in Edmond. If you cannot find Ashley in her classroom, she is probably reading a book while sipping coffee, watching a show with her husband, James, snuggling her soon-to-be-born baby, J.D., or playing card games with friends.
