David Green
Teacher
“God has provided me with the gift of teaching. I love the opportunity to share the love and beauty of God’s magnificent creation. What I love most is helping students learn and overcome past trauma.”
David grew up hearing about the ministry of Cookson Hills through the support of his home church in Lawrence, KS. But it wasn’t until he visited Cookson Hills in 1985, that he was captivated by the ministry. At that time, David never imagined he would end up working at Cookson Hills, since he did not want to be a teacher. But God would begin shaping and molding him. In 1999 he became a college professor in California and then 6 years later, switched to high school education back in Kansas. In 2010 God brought him to Cookson Hills to minister to our wonderful students. David teaches a wide variety of science classes which keeps him on his toes. David has a Bachelor of Science in Agricultural Science and a Master of Horticulture Science from Kansas State University, and a PhD in Plant Pathology from University of Georgia. If you cannot find David in the Science Lab, chances are he’s outdoors either hiking, canoeing, camping, or gardening.
