Jan first heard about Cookson Hills when her home church brought Christmas gifts one year. After that she and her husband, Shane, began learning more about the ministry and fell in love with the kids and the way Cookson Hills works.They officially joined our team in 2007 as houseparents. In Jan’s words, ”I love how each child changes through love and guidance while in our care.” Jan and Shane have seven children, four of whom still live at home; Maggie, Lilly, Travis and Preston. She also adores her two beautiful grandchildren, Emma and Easton. If you cannot find Jan on campus, you are almost guaranteed to find her and her jet ski wherever this is a body of water. If it’s too cold to on a jet ski, then you’Il probably find her reading a good book.
