Kellie began serving at Cookson Hills as the Middle School Social Studies & Science Teacher in 2013.
Her favorite part about teaching is when students realize they can relate to people from history and they respond with a “WHAT?!” or “That’s crazy!” Kellie believes that more often than not, the personal connection and understanding they gain is far more important than memorizing dates in history. Kellie has a Bachelor of Science in History Education grades 6-12, from Toccoa Falls College, and is certified in all core classes grades 6-8. If you cannot find Kellie in the classroom or the gym, it’s probably because she’s watching hockey, googling stats on NHL hockey players, tweeting or Facebooking about hockey, or in Tulsa watching the Tulsa Oilers play hockey. She and her husband, Cameron, also enjoy playing deck building games…while they watch hockey. Oh, and she likes to run.
