“Our students come to us with so much baggage and barriers to hearing God’s word. I seek to be a safe place for them to explore God’s word and look at it from a Kingdom-focused mindset.”
Josh first heard about Cookson Hills when his in-laws were searching for a place to serve as Houseparents at the International Conference on Missions (ICOM in 2010). Josh began serving at Cookson Hills in 2016 as the Middle & High School Bible Teacher. He faces a unique set of challenges within his classroom, as our students come from difficult places with many negative perceptions of Christians. But, they dive into the word together; they explore hard questions, and they challenge each other. Josh has a Bachelor of Science in Youth & Family Ministry and in Biblical Exposition from Mid-Atlantic Christian University. If you cannot find the bearded man in the school, he may have shaved. In which case, you’ll need to look for the student who is leading the class and wearing a wedding ring. When Josh isn’t delivering fun and interactive Bible lessons, you may find him at home building Lego creations with his daughter, Esther, writing sweet notes to his wife, Sarah, before going hunting, or pushing a stroller as he runs around campus with his son, Nehemiah.
